Visual Art

Welcome to the gallery!

Art for me has always been oscilating, with interest waxing and waning. I have had a shifting relationship with it and I hope to use this website to showcase my love and growth within creation. To have some semblence of orginization in this presentaiton of my work, I'm sectioning it off to 4 eras with the 5th on the way. I think I've had a different understanding of art and what I was doing with each Era and I expect for this to continue shifting and modulating. Here is some work that I am proud of, I hope it's interesting

Era 1

Through high school I created peices that I really liked but I never saw it as anything more than a hobby to work on as an aside to my more legitimate work. This is the majority of my thoughts around Era 1, I kept a focus on graphic images and asthetic over building art skills of sketching or painting. This relationship with art was very fufilling but as I left for college and started my freshman year my motivation to make things waned.

Era 2

is the shortest of the Era's and it contains the totality of my works at my first university. I spent most of my time socializing in the days and procrastinating schoolwork so there are only a few peices I created to submit to various school magazines. Near the end of this Era I started to really struggle in college due to personal tragedies so there was a desperation and anguish apparent at least to me within.

Era 3

is maybe the most important era in my personal journey. I mark it by me dropping out of that previously mentioned college. I found myself incredibely isolated and alone at home and my mental health was dwindling to complete apathy. At this time I ended up getting involved in more intensive treatment for trauma and part of this was Art Therapy. Through Art Therapy I found a love for collaging and the patchwork representation of emotions too confusing and misunderstood to be represented in definative exact arts. There was an element of messyness and maddness out of tearing perfect magazine pictures apart and pasting them into something new. Out of all of the work I've done I think these will always be some of my favorites for the ways in which they helped me understand the world

Era 4

is the first of the Era's able to be put and understood in years. This era consists of 2024 to 2025 and consists of everything I've been doing since leaving intensive therapy and trying to move forward doing art without structered time and materials. Theres a lot I'm happy with and a lot I think is missing something I can't figure out.
